Gastronomical M&E is a small group of Northern Michigan bon vivants and (cook)book devotees that meets every six to eight weeks to share good food and good food writing. We select a feature cookbook well in advance of each meeting so that we’re able to spend time cooking and learning from it before we get together to create a meal using stand-out recipes from the book. Gastronomical M&E is as much about cookbooks as it is about cooking and members discuss the feature cookbooks as thoroughly as they would any other book club selection. Although space is limited by the size of our kitchen, registration for each Gastronomical M&E gathering is open to all.
Mission StatementAs members of Gastronomical M&E, we strive to celebrate the relationship between the art of eating and the art of living by learning and exploring in the kitchen, in the community, and in the company of one another. In sharing good food and good food writing, we aim to develop our philosophy as locavores of Northern Michigan.
